need new lens for side mirror

Additionally, determine of the mirror motor/transmission mirror mounting surface was damaged too (e.g. the mirror snap fits into it).
My mirror glass did not break.....was just left hanging by its wires, however the motor/transmission mounting surface was damaged.
My accident happened when the car was newish and I had to buy an entire mirror assembly from the dealer ($400) and use the parts needed.
Replacement parts are now available however, I hope your sitting down because the mirror and/or motor/transmission replacement parts are not cheap.

More economical solutions might be buying an entire mirror assembly from someone parting out or a salvage yard and removing the parts you need or to epoxy the mirror glass to the motor/transmission.
If you have to replace the motor/transmission, you will have to re-synchronize the mirrors.
Also note in the attached that the Mirror glass part numbers between model years 98/99 and 20/01 are different (e.g. not sure, but it may be difference between heated and non-heated mirrors).
