key range lock/unlock

key range lock/unlock
i got only one key to my car when i bought, they said i can get another key but it will run me about 450 from ray catena, but my problem is that i have to get some what real close actually i have to point my key at the sensor on the handle to unlock or even lock my door, is there some kind of sensor range that needs to be adjusted

You shouldn't need to be close, mine works from a good distance away and the higher up the better. It was only the old pre 1997 remotes that I remember you have to get clsoe up to.... Have you tried changing the batteriers on your remote?
