Lights stay on when car is off? Need Help!

Hey guys, i have an issue and was wondering what you guys thought before i go pay the stealership. Its a 2000 CLK430 with 62k miles. I just got back from Iraq and started to work on her a little. I replaced the battery but have an even bigger issue. The parking lights and fogs stay on even when the car is off. I also noticed the little green light by the light knob stays lit as well. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Also i was told it could be the SAM unit...or a bad switch? Im just wondering what im looking at since my warranty expired while i was deployed and Fidelity wants 14k dollars for a 4 year 48k mile warranty which is insane! Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would guess a short in the switch but again... without more info this is just a guess. Ck to make sure you have the switch in the proper location and NOT turned all the way to the left
