w208 clk320
clk320 starting fault

I have a 1999 clk320 sport w208 and ive had all sorts of problems with it over the last 2 years. At the moment it is failing to start, it turns over but will not fire up at all. I have had the ignition leads checked and have been advised there is no spark. Several people have advised me that it is probably the crank sensor but that seems to be a more common fault when the engine is hot, mine just wont start at all from cold. Ive had a diagnostic scan but that showed no fault codes although im not confident the scan was done properly. Can anybody offer any advice???

99CLK320,
The CPS will not show up on a scan. It's an inexpensive part to DIY. The part is located on the drivers side back of the engine down by the bell housing; easy to find and replace and if that doesn't work you may have to go to the dealer.
