Need clarity on retrofitting MP3 interface plug in glove box / door sil.

Regarding: Year 2000, 430 CLK Cabriolet

Have read multiple topics on this.

Need clarity on retrofitting MP3 interface plug in glove box / door sil.

I do NOT have the Nav system. I have the Bose system with CD changer in the trunk. No interface in the glove box.

Questions:
Is the interface located in the passenger door sil, still there, for a NON-Nav system ?
In other words, can I expect to find a cable I can patch to, in the door sil, on a NON-Nav system ?

Thanks.

MP3 interface for W208? Scosche FMMOD02 Universal Fm Modulator

I installed one of these in a year 2000 Jeep TJ, and would like to do same on my CLK.

This is not a transmitter/broadcaster. This is a hard wired emitter, patched in-line of the radio antenna cable.

Has anyone installed/used one of these in a W208 year 2000 ? Seems I hear something about fiber optics being an issue with some mp3 units, or something. Any info?

Here's a link to the unit:
Universal FM Modulator for iPod & MP3s and Auxiliary Input Devices

Thanks

The plug only came with the cars that originally had the Nav unit installed from the factory. It would be located on the right hand side of the glove box if it did have one. One of these days I will actually move that bad boy to the center console since I hate the long cable that sticks out of the glove box.

I looked as well and did not see the plug in glove box either. May be easier to drill your own slots and wire into the aux on your own... or do the cd player to casette player deal.
