2000 clk cabriolet 320
problem with front driver seat

hi
i own a clk 2000 cabriolet 320 .the driver seat will not bend forward ( to allow a person to get into the back seat )when i push down the lever that is on the driver's front seat .
it does bend /flex forward , backward ,and the seat moves forward and backwards when i use the controls that are on the driver's door inside panel

i took removed the panel housing the lever on the back rest and found that the one of the pulley cables inside was disconnected . i put in back in place but the seat still is not bending after i depress the lever .
i examined the hinge area where the seat and the back rest meet . there is a u shaped hinge on each side . the left side ( closest to the driver side door moves when i depress the lever on the back rest but the one on the right side does not move . the left one engages and disengages with the lever but the right one does not .
Can someone advice me on how to fix this problem?
thanks in advance

reset it.....
Slide your seat all da way forward(till it hit is max) and hold it for 5 seconds then all the way backward (till it hit is max)and hold it for 5 seconds and do it again forward 5 seconds and backward 5 secs and prob solved

ps: if that does not reset it, check your fuses

Question

Okay...so what if I found the fuse first? I had a bad one, replaced it, and now it moves forward an inch or two...but not all the way.

Not true! I just got in from the garage...in spite of what it was doing, the "5 second trick" worked! Now...about that convertible top...
