200 clk 320
fellow clk owners ... help !!!

Hello everyone,
i have a clk 320 and for the life of me i cannot find a set of performance tires that last over 10k (not even up to) on this monster .

i dont drive too agressive ..except for fast and an occasional hard coner here and there . What is the deal ???? The dealer told me CLKs eat tires up ... PERIOD ..but we all know about thier excuses..... i mean a pair of dunlop sp5000 ddint even give me 10 k !!!!

can anyone reccommend something from FIRST HAND PERSONAL experience ??? ( 235 45 17)

doesnt need to be ultra high perfomance like pole postions .. but justa good handling cornering tire that will give me some wear .... can be summer OR all season thoguh im in dallas so no snow ... so far got firehawk sz ..from luke anythign else ???

thanks in advance

CLK 430 Coupe + MGF + 1980 Camaro
the orig michelin pilots (not the sports) that were o.e. on my 430 seem pretty good the orig owner replaced them with conti's at 22k - these have also worn well (till i put 18" on)

If you're like me, and you were wearing the outside edges of your tires, there are a few things you can do.

1. Every 5,000 miles, rotate your tires. If they are directional, take them off the wheels, and put them on the other side (make sure you tell the dealer to have them face the right direction).
2. Lower the car. Everyone is so worried about negative camber, but the fact of the matter is, on most Mercedes, a degree or two of negative camber will actually help your tires last longer (depending on how you drive). This negative camber will prevent you from rolling over the outside edge of your tires as much, and set properly, will balance out your tire wear.

I've gone from 7,000 miles on tires to over 12,000 miles, and I drive hard.

I have had the same problem. I am trying Kumho tyres, which I got online for $100/tire. Got a pair mailed and installed for less than $40. But it seems a yearly change is eminent.

I have the Pirelli P7000 on my CLK430 18inch F225 R255, I drive aggressive and I like it alot. It has nice grip on both wet and dry and it last long. What I really like about the P7000 is that is doesn't pull as much as P-Zero Rosso (which I use to have) on uneven roads.
