ecu help
i have a random misfire ive literly tryed everything but the ecu but a new one frm the dealer is an arm and a leg the shop i took it to said they know someone that rebuilds them for cheaper and i cant just take one off another car what you guys think about it can they be rebuilt

You can send it to one of the chip tuners like INMotionausa, Powerchip, SpeedTuning. There are more companies. I used INMotionusa to reprogram mine specifically for 91 octance fuel. The car runs better than new. With that said though, the problem may not be with your ECU. It could be a coil pack. How many miles on your car? And, who said the ECU was bad? Kleeman in Colo Spgs can flash you ECU. Give them a call.

i tried swapping them around same thing it has spark its #5 injector works sometimes but i swapped injector samerthing camsensor MAF compression everything it was hit frm the front it has 40k it was a just mercedes shop he said he was pretty much stuck the only thing he can think of is the ecu

he's guessing that the ECU is bad. I wouldn't spend $2K for a new one on a guess. take it to a dealer or Kleeman in Colo Spgs and get it diagnosed correctly. you could swap an ECU from another benz but it would have to be the exact same model I would think. MarcusF jump in here Mr. Wizard. We need your expertise. (also, write a complete sentence with a period and the end. it's much easier to understand what you are trying to convey.)

also the egr broke and was replaced but idk if it was replaced with a oe part or some cheap ****. everything looks like its installed correct but theirs this lil cup looking thing on one of the vacuums thats just hanging idk what it goes to does it just sit like that or does it go some where. would that cause a random misfire.
