Got to love the maintenance repairs of my CLK
So my Mercedes was flaking out in terms of the lights would start flashing about 5 minutes after the car was locked and then the alarm would go. Also the rear trunk stopped working on the remote. I took the care to the dealership and they confirmed that it has something to do with the trunk and that it was causing the alarm to go on.
The fixed it but after having the car in they checked the car over and with only 56K miles here is the list of items I need to have done:
trans flush
brake fluid flush
valve cover gasket leaks need a new gasket and new plug wires as oil is all over them
Fuel filter
ball joint
need both front wheel bearings repacked
Convertible top does not work right the wires that pulls the top back are stretched out
The total is $3250
Got to love owning a 10 year old Mercedes CLK430. Great care love driving it just hard to bite this off. This is my 2nd car that is garaged mostly and driven on nice days. I dont put anything close to this into my 11 yr old Jeep Grand Cherokee with 140K miles.

CLK55 / E350 Coupe
Take it to a good indy for the work, probably will be half that.
Reason why we call dealers = stealers. They look for any wore items or purely by miles or age for recommendation.
Trans Flush, Brake flush, fuel filter, and front bearing repack. Are normal wear items at 50k/10yr that alone would be $1500 from the "dealer". Shop around and if your taking it to a dealer, do research on the dealer theres alot of bad ones out there.

If the "stealer" gives you a kiss it's seduction. No kiss, it's rape.

It is not at the dealership but an independent shop. The majority of the cost was to fix the top and alarm issue that alone was over $1000 another $750 for the valve cover gasket and plug wires.
Wont have another one of these for about 2 years hopefully. These things are expensive to own.
