Question Poll: Avg. Oil Consumption

I would like to know the avg. oil consumption you've been experiencing. Please include year, model 320,430 or 55, cars mileage with the type/brand of oil, style of driving and the # of miles between changes or oil addition. Normally when the oil is changed it measures to the top of the range on the dipstick and the difference between the max and min is approx 2.1 quarts. My 01' 430 with 12,000 miles uses about 1/3 of a quart every 4,000 miles with moderate to occasional aggresive driving.

Thanks
RJC

...'01 CLK 55; 7,050 miles;Mobil 1; 50/50 city, hiway; 4,000 miles / oil change. No discernable change in oil level between changes;(<1/4 quart ?)
I drive aggressively and did not follow any form of break in proceedure. Your oil consumption sounds quite normal.

MY01 CLK55, 25k miles (first 12k 50/50 hiway/city; last 13k 80/20 hiway/city). Oil (always Mobil1) changed at 3k, 10k, now following FSS (called for/got a change at 20k, says I've got another 6k til next Service A - I'll go in by 30k though).

I consider my driving style to be appropriate for a 55 i.e. pretty darn aggressive. Regular checks have shown less than a quarter quart even between the 10k & 20k mark.

99CLK430, 30,000 Miles, Mobil 1 5W30 every 5,000 miles, a lot of highway driving (80-85 mph). I can't see any change in oil level between changes. When people told me their car used no oil, I never believed them. Now I do. I'm sure it uses some oil, but I can't see it on the dip stick.

2001 CLK320 Mobil 1 Last change at 5,500 miles 1/2 the the FSS number. I have not seen any change in oil level.

Mixed driving 50% highway, I tend to drive quite quickly on the highway 80 - 90 (thanks to my Escort 8500).

My last two benzes used no oil either.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
2002 CLK55 AMG:

5,800 miles driven

50/50 city/hwy driving

20 mpg avg.

Oil level is half-way between the upper/lower dip stick mark.

Plan to change oil @ 10,000 under the free "A" MB service.
