Torque Arm?....
So the other day in the rain i was driving too fast getting on the highway and my rear end kicked out and hit a 2 inch high curb..i noticed right away that the left rear tire was bent in on front end of the tire..so i had the car towed to my friends mechanics shop to see what the extent of the damage was and he's describing the part as a "torque arm"...what is this? does he mean control arm?

He may be refering to the transverse arm. But more than likely the lower arm is messed up to. The upper may or may not be messed up as well. The transverse arm is the arm that goes from the knuckle to a mounting point towards the fuel tank. It prevents front to back movement of the kunckle assembly
