Avantgarde
I have a CLK 200 Kompressor avantgarde.
What does Avantgarde denote?

Most of us on this forum are from America and we do not get the CLK200 Avantgarde here in the States so we dont know too much about it...sorry about that. I am sure someone from across the pond will chime in soon with an answer.

Hi, new member from the UK here, picked up a 2000 430 Avantgarde Convertible a couple of months back and am loving it so far (although not so much now our short summer has finished!) Anyway, in answer to your question, my understanding is that the Avantguard is the top of the range "sport" version as opposed to the "luxury" Elegance version and has a sportier set-up (firmer suspension etc) and different interior. Hope this helps.

Cheers Simon. I like the sound of a 430. I didn't know the UK had a summer? haha
No problem at all. I suppose "summer" is a relative term, we have a couple of months where it doesn't rain every day and sometimes the sun even shines so that's top down every day weather for me!

The Avantgarde is the top of the line, or most 'factory' optioned car besides the AMG (of course). Also, you can get a 'Sport Edition' within each trim level - My C class and CLK are both Sport Edition Avantgarde.
