Exclamation Air in fuel lines - does this cause problems?

Friends,

After installing my ported/polished manifold, my car is running VERY rough and stalling. It was almost on empty (<1 gallon) and I leaked out appx a quart of fuel from the rail/injectors.

Could air in the fuel rail or lack of fuel in the tank cause what feels like misfiring? I'm going to check the MAF/airbox connection and all the coilpacks/injector wiring. I also plan to put 5 gal of gas in and let it run to see if it smooths out. Thoughts? Thanks!!

Hi It is not likely to be air in your lines, normaly it wont run rough it will just stop. It could be water in your tank the water floats on top as you get down it gets sucked in, it gets in as condensation. Could also be electrical lots to check. Good luck

water is heavier than gas it goes to bottom first

gas and water don't mix but water and ethanol will

I don't now all the varables of yur condition. if the car sat possible even over night the water inthe air con condense on the walls of yur gas tank when its even only half full. A empty tank hs more area for the water to condense. and trust me the air contains a lot of water at times. when yu started moving the car by siting in it and starting ti the shaking cause the water to collect and run to the bottom of the tank the only way to get water to float on gas is to spary it on in a fine fog even then it will collect together and fall to the bottm. hope this helps

Car's running now with factory manifold reinstalled. After many trial and error configurations and reinstalls of the "ported/polished" POS, I found that there is a definite leak in the silicone reseal.

The choice that TVTdesign made to remove the variable intake runners was a very poor decision in my opinion. Definitely a half brain solution to intake improvements.

Glad the car's running with no major damage....only a few months of downtime and ~$1000 wasted.

Wait... are you saying they removed the butterflys from within the manifold making it more of a tunnel ram type configuration? I'd have to guess that would KILL your low end??
