Headlamps 02 CLK
I have factory D2R xenon headlights on my 02 CLK. I'm looking to replace them because the lenses are in bad shape. The clearity is ok on the lenses but they have small spider cracks that cant be fixed with headlamp restoration and the price of new factory assemblies are outrageous. Does anyone know where I can buy both new left and right headlamp assemblies that are compatiable with the D2R factory xenon lighting? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

99CLK320,
Too bad you can't buy lenses so try Aristocrat High Gloss Epoxy, $10+shipping online. Works great for restoring fogged up lenses after you buff them out. Better than new. I bet that will fix your cracks and not nearly as expensive as replacing the whole headlight.

i deal with this all the time at work(i do body work). go to a body shop and get them professionally buffed out. most likely everything you are seeing is on the outside of the lense. what i do when i get a job like this is sand the entire lense with 1000 grit sand paper on a d/a sander then go over it again with 2000 grit wet on the d/a. then buff it out using a buffer with a coarse compound and pad. then go over it again with the buffer using a finishing pad and compound. they come out looking brand new! the absolute most you should pay for this job is a benjamin, but well worth it.
