The powerchip??!!!

Just wondering if anybody has had a powerchip gold 93 installed in a clk 320. If so did you get results immediately or did you have to wait until the chip had time to set it self up. The same day I received it back from powerchip I had it dyno'd and there was no change at all in hosre power or torque. Powerchip told me that I would have to put around a 100 miles on the car before I would see results. This seems a little odd to me but I am going to wait and see and then dyno it again. If anyone has seen good results can you tell me if it was dyno'd or if it was based on feel and drivability. Any help would be appreciated.

why is this off topic?

seems like a clk question to me?

- not sure why a 100 miles would be required i had my 430 chipped last week and the gains were immediate... merc ecu's learn the drivers style but i would think you should seem some immediate benefit

It usually takes about 100 miles for cars to fully adapt to performance changes being made. Some are immediately felt, but continue to gain, others do not gain for over 30 miles. Every car seems to be different, as they adjust depending on several variables.

I had a local tuning shop sort it for me..

they dont use an image - they port out the original image - remap it and remove the speed limiters...

hit 160 last night and was accelerating hard when traffic forced me to slow...

the peeps that mapped for me are

http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/

they are working on a tweeked version with higher rev limit...

it revs fine to 6500 rpm using tiptronic to shift but the gearbox then shifts to neutral if you hit the limiter???? - which we are trying to fix???

I am wondering why when I tested my car that there was no increses in horse power. If Powerchip has done what they say they have then the car should have seen some change on a dyno.
At his point the car appears the same. I'm going to wait a while and see if the car improves. I think that powerchip has actually done nothing to increase horse power. They did manage to get the car to sound different so they must have done something. I wonder if other people who have had there car done think the car is faster because it sounds different. As far as I can tell dyno's don't lie.

Does it over rev when it shifts to neutral?

after it shifts to neutral it will still rev to 6.5k???

but it wont reselect a gear until you kill the ign and restart..

its like the box detects the over rev - assumes your trying to kill the car and shifts to neutral to prevent a downshift???
