CLK 320 Avantgarde

Gearbox query

My CLK320, is very sluggish (as in hardly moves feels as if it is in 5th gear and not 2nd gear) in W mode in the morning, but when I have it in S Mode its fine. After the car has warmed up then W Mode is fine. But no probs while driving, gear change is smooth as silk.

Is there any probs driving in W mode?

Any ideas?

W mode bypasses first gear, which is why it feels sluggish. On my car, it seems like it shifts slower also.

Hi Mach430,

I know that W starts the car in 2nd gear, but this has happened just recently as I always have it in W, that flooring it makes no difference the car moves at snail pace (a bicycle could go faster), I have to stop the car put it S and then the car moves . (Note only in the morning - thus maybe cold).

Any thoughts?
