Amg front bumper

Hi All,

I need help with what bumper to put on my car.

I'm looking to get a new front bumper and wanted to retro fit the W209 CLK AMG 63 one. Does anyone know how its done? Do you need to cut the bottom of a W208 bumper off and graft the 63 one on?

Inputs most welcome!

From what I've seen and heard the best way is cut an oem w208 bumper where the molding is at and cut the w209 at the same spot if not lower depending on how aggresive u want the bumper to sit the ground.after the bodyworks been done paint, install and pics for us lol.

CLK W208
yes thats how i do them, but its not easy. you have to know where to cut and connect for the lines to flow, also attaching s the hardest part necause you have to fuse them together and make sure it soolid. its a very expensive project if you want it done right and very time consuming. I have made a jig that allows me to do the bumpers that i do. PM me for more details and info.

Hey thanks Guys!

I wasn't sure because I found the bumper I want but its just a shell (no frame or any foam inside it).

So jbenz2001 and Ash, what your saying is I can get the shell and cut below my parking sensors on my W208 bumper then graft the AMG bumper on after cutting it from the same point.

I need to find a shop now where they can do the work!

Thanks again, I'll keep you posted on the work if I find a good shop.

Looking to do the same thing. Is it hard to do it as a DIY? Like what materials would I need to buy?

Thanks
