2005 CLK55 COUPE
Harsh Ride

Lately when I drive my car, it seems to ride really hard over minor bumps on the road specially the rear of the car. I thought it may be bad shocks in the rear so I replaced them with new Bilstein HD's but still have the same issue. It use to drive nice and smooth before but not any more. I dont get it specially since the car is not lowered. Anyone have the same issue?

Thanks

99CLK320,
what is your tire pressure? as the weather warms the pressure in the tires increases. have you had the car serviced lately? maybe the tires were overfilled?

I recently took my 2000 clk 430 to a Bently repair shop that had an excellent mech. He told me that the replacement of your transmission mount would smooth out your ride, cause over time it gets too worn. So try that also, and tire pressure.

Check the front lower ball joints. Jack up the front, or just one wheel. With the wheel in the air, check for up/down movent on the wheel. If there is movement, the ball joints are bad and need to be replaced. I would look there first.
