H&R cup kit for 430

I called H&R to get the part number for the cup kit and was told they don't make one for the 430 but what I read on this forum some of you have the cup kit on your 430's. Does anyone know the part number.

No, H&R doesn't make a Cup Kit for the 430. however, everyone just uses the kit meant for the 320. Results: the car will sit a little bit lower... probably about .2" lower in the front.
It works out great!

I think what you read was that people wanted them for their CLKs.... I could be wrong. I also said that I have them on my Audi A6 4.2. I am having custom coilovers built for my 6.2 liter CLK project, however, they will be built to spec for my particular car and probably won't be mass produced.

The cup kit is a matched set of springs and shocks. The difference between that and coilovers is the height adjustability that coilovers offer. Typically H&R coilovers are stiffer and handle better than the cup kit.
Now since H&R coilovers are not offered for the w208 CLK, we'll ignore that and get to the cup kit. The cup kit is designed for the weight of the CLK320, which due to the smaller engine, is less heavy in front. It will work perfectly fine on the 430, but will sit about .2" lower in the front due to the additional engine weight.
Thanks,
Ben

My bad. I'm not sure why I was reading "cupkit" as "coilovers." I even typed in cupkit but thought I was talking about coilovers. Must be the sleepless nights that my newborn shorty is causing me.

This is the cupkit from H&R for the W208 CLK320. Looks beautiful!
On a CLK320, it suppose to lower the front about 1.9" and 1.6" in the rear.
For a CLK430, it will lower the front 2.1" and 1.6" in the rear.
Tirerack has it for $597.

Actually, that is not the w208. We do not have the Macpherson strut setup as other cars do. The cup kit is simply 4 seperate springs and shocks. But yes, the kit is beautiful!
Thanks,
Ben

here is my ride... '02 CLk430 with Brabus suspension... with different pads, the total drop was 2" front and 2" rear. It gives you an idea of how the cup kit would look.

mmgrad,
your car looks great, sorry to here about the thugs taking your wheels. So the cup kit will drop it about the same, I like the drop on your car. Will the back be a little higher then the front with the cup kit, since the engine is heavier? Also what pads did you use.
Theine,
Your car looks good too, what pads did you use on your setup.
Thanks guys

I used #1 pads all around... using the Cup Kit, the front should look about the same... as for the rear, I think it would sit about 1-2 finger spaces higher.
But if you do like me and use #1 pads all around, it will lower your car even more.

Richard,
I can't tell for sure what other mods he/she made to this car outside of the H&R Cup Kit, but here is a pic of another Black Opal CLK430 but with 19" SSR GT3 rims.
it sits nicely...

I have standard pads. I think 5 rear and 3 front, but not sure.
