WOW factor
I am surprised by how well the CLK holds the value, even in this soft economy. I had to pay 60% of the original price ($50K in 1999) for a 4 years old used car. I bought it in cash to saved $3140 in interest (after tax is $33.6K, 5.9% APR, 36months).
I was thinking to add this money to my stock profile, but in this unsure economy, this money may not do much for me or even lost value in 2 years. Now I already saved $3140 up-front.
Anyway, I am happy about my purchase. One of my friends purchased an Acura TL Type-S (same price) one week ahead of my purchase. We went out together and our friends are impressed by my used CLK but just feel ok about the new Acura. I like to open the hood to show people the v8 engine. They are overwhelmed by the¡§Mercedes Benz V8" chrome door sill the most. I think CLK really has the "WOW" factor. Lucky I did not purchase a new Acura CL Coupe for the same price tag (BTW: I also think CL is a very nice car).
