Heated cup holder?

I was doing a lot of stop and go driving yesterday, about 25 miles, and noticed some heat from the cup holder area. When i got home I noticed that whole area was warm. I popped shifter surround and the trans tunnel was VERY hot.

So. Is my trany shot? I have noticed 1st gear shifting oddly lately.

I just had it pro flushed at a MB indy with MB trans fluid about a month ago. Also did a coolant flush last weekend and the car is not over heating.

thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, but 1st gear is normal for me. I've also recently had a tranny flush in the last 8k miles.

I'd like to know if this should worry me, but if I had to guess this is probably normal.

I was kind of thinking that too. but man I would be pissed if I bought this car new and it did that.
