Harmonic Balancer Repaired in Canada?
For all you Canadian CLK owners....
Have you had your Harmonic Balancer (HB) replaced under recall?
Was it outside of your warranty period?
If so, can you please provide some details (such as the date the replacement occurred, the dealership that provided the work, etc).
It looks like my HB is the same model number as one of the two under recall in the USA (112 035 00 00 or 112 035 06 00) and has now failed, causing other engine damage.
If you haven't replaced your HB yet, I suggest you do so right away. My car only has 86k kms on it and is a 99 CLK320.

I checked with two local dealers and they both will not cover the repair.
They quoted the following:
$445.10 for the harmonic balancer
1 hour of labour is required
$65 for the belt.
I found the following on AutohausAZ
$67.44 for the harmonic balancer (112035130005)
$31.83 for the belt (6PK2390)
Free shipping.
