Fair price on 99 W208 Cabriolet 90k miles?
Hi guys. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a 99 CLK 320 Cabriolet w/ 90k miles. He was asking 8k, and and has agreed to sell at $7500. Blue book in fair condition is $8100
Its in pretty good condition, immaculate interior, no tears or wear patterns in the usual spots. The seller was candid about issues with the car. The most important being that in the 3 years he's experienced shifting issues which required a restart to resolve. (3 times)
I've searched the threads and from similar user symptoms, it seems to be a transmission Electrical Shift Plate. Which I'm not too worried about getting fixed.
Another issue is the top open light remains on when the top is up.
-The car has been well serviced with accompanying records.
-Motor mounts have been replaced @ 80k miles
Any input?
Is there any checks I can do on the VIN through the dealer that doesn't cost any money?

Thanks for the input.
Yes I know it's worth whatever I'm willing to pay much like anything else in life . . . BUT who better to ask than the experts in the W208 threads.
If you'd asked if a W220 was worth X amount, I'd certainly give you any helpful info I could on general price ranges and/or issues to come.
