My guess is that it has to be something involving the strut on the side of where the sound is coming from. I doubt it is a bearing because broken or damaged bearings usually make a sort of airplane sound as the car accelerates.

The control arm was shot. had to weld another mount. changed out upper and lower passanger control arm. Another Mbworld member just did my bearings for me. My shocks and springs were shot after 80k. Changed shocks to bilstien hd and oem springs. Much nicer ride.
