A while ago when I was changing my wheels, after I had put the car back on the ground I got the BAS/ABS error and the car wouldn't shift out of park. I grabbed a pen, inserted it into the flap under "P" and manually unlocked the shifter so I could get into drive. After that, the errors didn't return and the car's shifter worked fine. I don't know what happened -- anyways, the flap is still open and its just bugging me.

Is the only way to close the cover to hook the car up to STAR and reset the codes? Does anyone know why this might have happened if all I was doing was changing my wheels?
