Alright thanks
I really like the LED's you posted on that thread mmgrad, thanks a lot. Where did you get those blue LED's at and how long to ship you think. It seems like all of these bulbs are coming from the UK? Also just to clearify, the bulb i'm replacing is the top or botom bulb in that little inner bubble? Are there any other mods i need or is it a direct plug and go job(voltage diff?) You don't know how much help you have been thanks all!!!

You can get either 6V or 12V, both will work... It is simply a direct swap.. you will need to cut off one of the locking pegs to get the bulb inside, but that is typical for most all aftermarket driving light bulbs

The last time I remembered looking into these they were like $30/pair plus shipping.
Danny, can you tell me exactly where you got yours from and even model numbers if you have it? I hope I don't seem too !

Hey Danny, I'm a little confused here. Are the M17's as bad as so many people are making them out to be? Here's your pic from the other post...
IMO, they look pretty good, but without the Xenons on it's hard to tell how they match up.
*cough*Can you post a pic of that please*cough*
You say that the LED's are too bluish. I don't want a noticeably blue city light if that's the case. I think that would make it look like all of my lights are fake ebay-xenons.
Would you at least say that the M17's are a step up from the stock yellow bulbs?
Man, if I didn't reeeeaaaalllly want the nice uniform look I would have just dropped the subject a long time ago. See how desperate and obsessed I am.

The M17s are definitely a step up from the stock bulbs in terms of color... but it ends there... the luminance is very poor... you can't even tell its on during the day. And at night, you can barely see it being reflected off the car in front. The new M17s might be better in terms of luminance since the blue coating is not PAINTED, rather the new ones are dyed blue.
as for the LEDs, unless you have like 8000K xenons, it probably won't match very well... its probably even bluer than 6000K xenons.
Hopefully, my next light project will come out the way I want it to and the look will be uniform.

Wait a minute, you have daytime running lamps? Maybe that's where all the confusion is. I just want them to look uniform at night, with the Xenons on. I also don't drive with the fogs on. I don't care about evanescence, or whatever it's called, just want the look to be uniform. To me, the xenon's light up the road plenty enough by themselves.

As you can see from the above pics... the M17s are SOOO DIM, they look as if they aren't even on when next to the Xenons... and those are stock xenon bulbs...
BUT, in the least, the color does match fairly well... it could just be that the M17s have aged a little, and the blue paint is no longer shinning as blue as it was before... I think I'm gonna buy the new M17s and give them a try...

Oh man! IMO, those look perfect. A+!!! As I said in my earlier post I don't really care how bright they are as long as there is no yellow and it has a comparable white-bluish hue to them. According to your pics it looks like you've accomplished that with the M17's.
Do you remember where you ordered those for $10/pair? I gotta have those right now!

Price not bad
True. The ones listed on ebay are indeed the old style, but I could not find the new ones at a reasonable price. Some interenet sites had them for as much as $20!
Can't beat the price! Let us know if you find the new ones at a reasonable price.
