18" Black AMG Monoblock Reps
I've had my black opal '01 CLK 55 for about a month now, and as a former 430 owner, I'm very pleased to say the least. So far I had the windows tinted (40% huper optic ceramic w/black dye), and added an aftermarket nav/bluetooth/mp3 system (I relocated the HVAC controls to the bottom so the fold out screen doesn't block them).
After seeing some of the great looking cars on this site, I'm thinking of going with the blacked out front grille. To go along with it, my friend can get 18" AMG Monoblock reps, so I was thinking of picking up a set and painting them black. I think the AMG Monoblocks are great looking wheels, but I'm not sure if they'd look good in black. Any opinions?

some ppl like them , some ppl cant stand them and even seen some say black wheels are played out .. to each is own is wht i think ..
i lovem personally but they came with my car the previous owner had the oem powdercoated for $600 and lips polished for $550
i wouldnt have paid that much but in the end more happy with them black then just silver ..with tinted windows n black car you cant ask for much better i also painted my grill black but now im thinking of getting the one with a star and paint that all black but leave the star chrome . sorry not a clk but you asked bout black monos just to give u a idea

I have a set of 18" monoblock reps as well, couldnt be happier with them, although they are not black I love them, and my grill is blacked out as well, personally I think the monoblocks black look horrific, but like as said above, to each their own, check out my sig pig, I love my wheels and my car, It is one of the cleanest CLK's I have seen on the road, not to brag, hahahaaa

Thanks for the pics MBFLO, I like the look. The polished rims are a nice contrast. I was thinking of going matte black for the grille and wheels. Maybe I'll start with the grille, and see if I think I want to paint the rims after. I like the sportier wheels, but I think the Monoblocks can't be beat. I think the only other wheel I would get is a Brabus Monoblock IV or V.
After seeing your car, OGCLK320, I'm convinced I should upgrade to the 18's from the 17's.
