Which Bilsteiens, HD, or Sport, in 430 CLK Cabriolet w/OEM suspension ?

Have read on forums that one is longer than the other--that one is for lowered suspension, etc.

So, for a regular non-modded suspension on a 430CLK Cabriolet, year 2000, which is it, HD or Sport ?

Thanks

You should go with the HD's with your stock suspension. The Sport shock is a bit shorter used with lowering springs. Speaking with one of the techs at Bilstein he told me that both shocks have the same valving/performance, it's just that the Sport shock is meant to be used for lowered cars (shorter) than the HD.

Aaron: Good info. HD it is.

OGCLK: Thought about it, but no. Mine's a daily driver, and, around here, lower would not be better--I would very likely leave my transmission in a pot hole.

Yesterday, installed new front LCA's and springs and ball joints.
One LCA had failed (rusted into two pieces); the other side LCA was separating into two; and both springs were broken. MB metallurgy sucks.

Will install the new shocks when they get in next week, then get vehicle aligned.

Thanks for your good responses.
