I was told that 20" rims cause trnasmission damage....true or false?

I was told that 20" rims cause trnasmission damage....true or false?
I have a 99 clk430 and i was todl that 20's will cause damage to the transmission..is this true or false. has this happened to anybody?

I don't think any wheel mod can really mess with a transmission... definitely affects fuel consumption, suspension, performance, potential body damage, ride quality, vehicle usability... etc...

no..prolly just have to go to the dealer to get the tires rotation and balancing done a little more..but the transmission?
