Noise When Braking

Does anyone hear a weird click/popping noise whenever you brake when slowing the car and the tranny down shifts from 2 to 1? This noise is very intermittent and usually comes out when slowing and making a slight down hill right turn when braking.

I can't tell if this is the braking system or the transmission.

Thoughts? Anyone else here this noise?

i've been having this problem for a while now with my '00 CLK320. I'm taking it in on saturday cause its getting worse. They keep telling me that they modify my brakes or something!!

This is my opportunity to get my brakes replaced with AMG ones. Cmon guys, shall i go for the C32 brake upgrade? No problems for cruise drivers. Can the local dealer here do the job. Any fabrication or modifications required? Let me know, cause i dont wnna waste anymore time on this issue.

I desperately wanna go for an aggeressive looking brake ( drilled rotors and cool calipers ) without spending thousands!

Thanks Ahmed,

I'm also taking my car to the dealer this Saturday. It'll be hard to explain since it doesn't happen everytime. I'll let you know what those guys say after the weekend.

I was quite surprised that Fletcher Jones did Satuday services. I thought they only did minor stuff, but it seems they will do maintenance/service work and everything. But I think it's limited appointments because the scheduler only told me four advisors would be available.

I just got back from the dealers and they re-torqued the 4 bolts in the suspension on my right front wheel. They said they were loose and that should stop the noise....I hope it does.
