Valve Cover Oil Leak & Bolt tightening Question - CLK 230 Engine

There is a minimal amount of oil that leaked on the side of the valve cover and I suspect that either the valve cover gasket has fossilized and cracked OR the valve cover bolts need to be re-tightened.

I'd like to go to the stealership to have this done but I use my car everyday and do not have the time.

a. Can I just tighten the bolts at 9nm Torque? Is this the right amount of Torque for these bolts?
b. Is it a MUST to get brand new bolts first? I red somewhere that valve cover bolts need to be replaced and cannot be re-tightened bcasue they are made of aluminum and are self tightening (not sure )
