cooling fans stay on even when engine off, cannot get error codes, AC not working
W208 cabrio.
Turn on the car. Go for a ride. Turn AC on. No hot air.
Get back home. Turn engine off. Step away from car. Cooling fans kick back on and will not shut off.
Went to get error codes (set temp to 72F both L and R, L HI R LO, press EC and REST for 5+ secs) but cannot see error codes. I can only see the read outs e.g. L 7 R 38.
The funky thing is that for code 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, the right reads LO and does not read a number. Gulp!
I am pissed because I cannot get an error code reading - and because I fear for my AC unit but I cannot tell what's wrong.
Had to pull fuse #15 to get fans to go off.
What is wrong? Need help.

Thank you for the input. Actually, was wrong in my original post - I do get engine temp reading so, sorry, I don't think the engine temp sensor is the cause.
BTW, I have re-inserted fuse # 15 and the fans are off BUT, now, my AC display in the cabin stays on with the back light and the L and R displaying "OFF".
I have yet to try the AC again. I will report once I do.
