Looking into buying a CLK 320 1998 with 198k miles.... SHOULD I buy it ... or is it too much miles on the engine... how much goes into the car when first purchased ?

It just depends how it has been taken care of for those 198k.
I have 240k on my 98, look at my sig pic, its still a hell of a car, and runs excellent, but I have taken immaculate care of it..
Have it checked over by a reputable shop, but I am sure you are getting it for dirt cheap anyways right?

Brilliant Silver CLK 320
If it was taken care of then it's probably still a good car. Checkout out the engine, transmission, suspension, and overall body condition. Best thing to do is have it looked over by a mechanic and definitely ask the owner for service records. Remember, there is no such thing as a "cheap" Mercedes.
