Bra for 2000 CLK 430

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get a decent bra for 2000 430? I drive out to the desert a lot and I want to protect the front. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Used to be a CLK430
Have you considered a clear bra like Stoneguard or Xpel?

Re: Bra for 2000 CLK 430

I had a bra for my 2002 CLK430 awhile back until it got stolen from my garage with my tools. Regardless, the bra wasn't all that great when you're driving down the freeway. The hood part flaps ON the hood, leaving minute (but multiple) scratches on the hood. This is the same problem with the SLK bra. I don't think Colgan acknowledges this and/or will try to fix it.

A 3M Clear-Bra is the way to go if you don't already have rock chips.

Please get clear guard, the regular bra makes any car looks like ****. I've been quoted $250 and less for bumper, fenders, hood, and side mirrors, don't get ripped off, someone quoted me $650 for the samething !

Yeah, 3M as in the company. I believe there are others out there... It's a clear plastic film that molds onto your bumper and hood where the normal bra would go. It's a thin film. Imagine putting cellophane on the rock-chip prone parks of your car, except the cellophane is thick enough to protect the paint.

I have to repaint my front bumper every 6 months, I get a lot of rock chips because my bumper is so low. I really need to get clear bra too.

I want mine done too but mine is too late. I have tons of rock chips on my hood and bumper from driving around between Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, SF, SD, LA, and Murrieta.

Here are some links to some clear bra sites a lot of them are in So Cal of course. I so wish I lived in So Cal sometimes I can not find anyone to work on my car. I am going to order my bra this week and have the guy that does my tint do it. I mean it is basically the same thing. So keep your fingers crossed for me.

I'll have to ask again, I think he got that price because he has a show car and that shop wants to make copies of his bodykit or something, so if they can measure the dimension of the front bumper they can make replicas of it.

see below...

I bought the stonguard one, it supposidly, has an extra 1/4" so that it wraps around the metalwork, whereas (they claim) other don't wrap around the hood edge, just the top. I just got it shipped to me in London, and having it professionally installed this coming Saturday. I paid about $257 for partial kit (does not cover bumper) and $59 for the light kit.

Stonguard is a really good brand, lots of the S4 guys use that...pretty reasonable too
