Where to get 12V near headlights only w/key on?
I want to power the halo rings of my new headlights as daytime running lights that would come on when ever the car runs, independent of the light switch. I'm trying to find 12V in engine compartment that would not upset any other systems with sensors etc. I will place. Online fuse and these LEDs won't take much power. 99 CLK 320 Carbo. I don't really want to open the back of the fuse panel, just too many wires in there to mess with.

Yes, I've done business with idjmtoy and have been very happy, but even with the DRL module I still need to steal power. I don't want to have to run wires all the way back to the trunk where the battery is on my MERCEDES.

no you dont. thats the whole point of the DRL module, it supplies power. the best way to install it is to install the module by your fuse box inside the engine bay(on the driver side(us spec)). there is a battery terminal right on your shock tower. you connect the posetive wire of the module to one of the terminals in there and then the negative wire of the module to a grong which the closest and the best one would be under your winshield washer resevor where everything else is grondede. after that youjust run the other wires to the halos. I personally dont like halos n the mercedes but if you want them to run as drls this is the best and cheapest way to do it.
