Ahhhh...well you could get the AMG/Brembo C32 brakes. That would be the most cost effective way to go. You can get everything for under $700. Quite a few CLK owners have done this conversion. Some people will tell you that it's an incorrect application and not meant for the 208, but tons of people have done this with no problem. Besides, H&R says that their cup kit it is only for 320's and people put them on 430's all the time. ;0) I have the AMG brakes on my car and they work great.
At more than 3 times the price you can get the Brembo setup. This is a great system, but very expensive (over 3K).
Kleemann also makes a big brake kit, but I think it's even more expensive than the Brembo - someone correct me if I'm wrong about the price on that.

You can get them from the wholesale parts department of most dealers, or you can try Randall @ Autowerksdirect.com, or you can try evosport. Here's some pics of my install.

CLK 430
well they look incredible...but I have been reading I just did a quick readup on the rest of the forum. What is all the controversy around the change? Is it unsafe. Are yours modified?

The "controversy" is that in order to fit on the 208, they have to be mounted as a leading caliper instead of a trailing caliper as they are on the c32 so they're basically being "used in a way they weren't necessarily designed for." However, the same argument can be made for people that install the H&R cup kit on CLK430's and 55's as H&R says they're only designed for use on the 320. In any event, myself and many others on this board don't believe there's any safety issue. I asked around extensively before having this done, and that's what these boards are here for ;0) Ask around and if you don't feel comfortable doing it, then there's other avenues available albeit more expensive ones. As someone who has personally done it, I would totally recommend it. Braking performance is FAR better than stock and it looks great

Any idea on how long the installation would be?

Josh, looks great! Im close to buying a set for my CLK430, question. Do you feel any difference in braking response etc? How much did you buy your kit for and from where? How long was installation? Thanks!!

As part of my project, the existing Brembo's on my car will be replaced with a 15" kit up front. Mr. Vanos has dibs on the Brembos coming off my car, however, if he doesn't take them, they will be available at a very low price. They have about 3,000 miles on them and are in perfect condition.

The C32 calipers are silver. Viktorious, the response is incredible. It's much better than the stock brakes. In addition to performance, overall braking is much smoother. I purchased my brakes from the wholesale parts department at Caliber Motors, but I notice that Evosport has a better price than I got (about 50 bucks cheaper), and if you get in on a group buy, I'm sure they can get it for you at an even better price. Installation was done at my friend's shop and took a little more than an hour including doing a complete fluid change.

I guess if that's the case Vik, you can always get them from Randall @ autowerksdirect.com, or from Jesse Soto @ Caliber Motors wholesale parts. Or you could just SAY you were buying them for a c-class ;0)

Hey JoshK, where abouts in LA are you? You think it's possible to meet up, I want to check out your brakes.
What parts do I need when I order it? Calipers and whatelse? rotors? do I need a adaptor of some sort?
Thanks
