Air Mass Sensor Again!

It usually tops at just over 250 kph with the RPM needle idle at 5000 EXACTLY.
Took her in to the dealers this morning an guess what? The air mass sensor is faulty again. This is the third time i replace it and they keep blaming the problem on the K&N cone filter!
Here's pic...

............Yes, I actually just had this same conversation with the master mechanic at MB autowerks here in Atlanta. It appears K&N filters are so oily that they damage your air mass sensor. With such little gains if at all in HP and the availability of other brands, it may be unwise to use K&N filters in your MB.

I switched to an AMS Foam Filter on the S4 and all was well. What are your thoughts on a dry, Foam Filter for the CLKs?
