99 CLK 430 Oil build up
Hi Guys,
Ive been driving my dads 99 CLK430 recently, and when looking in the engine bay, I noticed what looks like oil building up, or seeping out of one of the covers on the engine. I'm sorry I cant be more descriptive, as I know nothing about cars, but I could possibly take a picture to help me in this.
But would you all be able to hypothesize what this could be? I haven't noticed any driving irregularities as of yet or oil leaking on the ground.

First take the black cover off the motor (it just snaps on) then look for the leak. If it's at the top it's probably a valve cover gasket and will cost a couple of hundred dollars or so to get fixed. Look at everything and check all fluids.

Valve cover gaskets
Just had my valve cover gaskets replaced (145,000+ miles). Could smell oil burning when the engine was warming up. Once up to temp could not smell anything. Never had oil on the garage floor.
