Missing Auto transmission dip stick?
Ok guys.
I went to check my auto transmission fluid by the long dip stick at the back of the engine and when I checked there was no metal dip stick attached to the red plastic top? This is not right is it as im sure in past mers I've owened it should be there>?

The Clk doesn’t come with one. You can buy one for about 80.00 US. It has to do with the whole life time transmission fluid bs that it should never have to be checked (except by the dealer) or flushed.

But even if you buy one like I did, it will have to be removed after you. He k the fluid. It is way too long and will not sit flush. This is normal....I bought mine on eBay for like 30 bucks!

the level should remain constant unless you've had a leak. it doesn't evaporate or burn away. the only reason for a dipstick is to check the level once you have completed a fluid change. And, the level should only be checked when the fluid is up to temperature for an acurate reading. there are threads/DIY's out there if you want to do it.
