HELP on idle revs are jumping from 200 to 3000
2002 clk 430 conv-
hey everyone,
today I washed my convertible and got ready to go out for a drive, when i turn the car on it reved up to about 3000 rpm and then back to almost 100 at the point of about to turn of. the revs kept going up and down, I placed it in drive and it was hesitating but then it appeared to run normal. went around the block and came back home and still the same problem on idle. opened the hood while it was somewhat running but did not see anything then a little smoke, something burning when back to turn it off and noticed that the check engine light came on.
I had the car for over a year and never had a problem..
where should i start looking?
