brake lining wear is simply your brake pads, i would never use an after market pad they are no good at all, get pagid or textar both oem pads, you can go to benzbin.com and they have nice parts... make sure to measure the rotors with a micrometer to make sure they arent below minimum... most rotors now adays only get two sets of pads before you need to get new rotors or about 50k miles...
So in short you may have to get in pads/rotors and sensors.

I have experienced this problem twice.
> The break-pad was too worn out, i.e. i bought new pads and changed it myself however the "Break lining wear" was still visible.
I then bought 1 sensor for each pad (like a match stick that is inserted into the break pad and connected to a jacket in the wheel hub) then everything worked fine and the symbol has not appeared since
Possible problems:
a) The sensor is not installed
b) The sensor is worn out and need to be replaced (it is pretty easy)

I have just changed, (within the last hour) both pad wear sensors and cleared the fault code but as soon as I start the car, the message comes up again.
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
