at the start the 320 may have the edge in the lower gears because of the Final drive - 3.07:1 but the longer gears on the 430 might win out at higher speeds.

I would find out how much of a difference mathematically, then get the value at which the CLK 430 starts to pull, and set the finish line 10 meters before that : P

Wonder starting at what higher speed will the V8 take over 100, 110, 120? I've dusted a E430 and CLK430 but it was at speeds below 100. Both were friends and the one with the CLK 430 said I only won because I got mods, and the one with the E430 thought something was wrong with his car so he sold it and got a BWM...lol
