I'm only getting 17 to 24 mpg could it be the maf sensor how easy it to clean or replace thanks for the help

Any other symptoms? Rough idle, slight hesitation during acceleration?

It's possible the MAF could be dirty. Pretty easy to clean and just as easy to replace. Use the search function as there's several threads.

yes there is a rough idle and slight hesitation during acceleration but no lights on the dash.

how easy is it to remove??

i've found it removed and cleaned it but no change to the running of the engine, so going to have diagnostic test done!

I have original MAF, 12 Yrs.
Clean it every few years.
Not a prob.

the car has been to local garage, they replaced the up stream O2 sensor it is now running as it should 30 - 35 mpg.
