Intruments Not Working + Loads of problems!
I wanted to change a bulb on my 1999 230 CLK Kompressordash cluster. I got the dash out OK , but when I put the cluster back all sorts of problkems happened:
None of the Intruments workd
The back lights on the LED displayes don't work
The ignition light is the only one that works propery
The others don't work at all
The AC fan only works intermitantly
The AS keeps switching itself on and off
The electric windows don't close propery#
What have I done wrong? I've checked all 3 fuse boxes
Hope someone can help.

Obviously, you didn't put the cluster back in correctly. When you say that you removed the dash, I assume that you removed just the cluster. There should have been 2 quick disconnects on the back of the cluster. Take it out again, reseat the connections and be sure to slide the lock for each connector backinto the lock position.

All fixed, but not by me. After spending many hours taking the cluster in and out, stipping it down and putting back together again, and trawling the web for a fix I gave up. I called in a mobile auto electrician and he fixed within an hour, cost £30. Turned out to be dirty and slightly bent pins in the multiplug socket, snd s blown fuse, although I did check them many times, anywayperhaps there's a leason here and that is not to wait too long before you get help.
