New to MBW, old problem

glad to find this community - I have a trouble free 2000 CLK 430, and spilled a few drops of water down the shifter. I read several folks with the same disaster, but can't find an explanation of how to open the console and remove the electronics. Where should I be looking for a how-to?

thanks for helping me out!

No response

Disappointed that nobody responded, but here's an interesting note. After having the electronic circuit board replaced, the transmission seems to operate more smoothly - better acceleration, smoother shifts. Anybody else have a similar experience? Is this just my mind, or is this an upgraded design?
