Lambo doors...

Thinking of puting Lambo doors on the CLK. Talked to a guy and he said he can do it for me for 900 bucks. Thats a steal! I went to the Metro Import Auto Show today and saw so many nice cars with Lambo doors, including an E46 Coupe on 19" MVR's. I really wanna get this done, you think i should go ahead with it?

I am doing it too. The honda accord kit from Decah can be used on the CLK, and it has already been done before, although no one seems to have pics of it. Mine will have them in a couple months I hope, I will post pics when it is all done.

After seeing it on that E46, I had to have them.

Here's the E46-

Some say it's tacky, but I think it is a wild mod that is easily hidden when you do not want it seen.

Damn, that's a tight BM.

What kind of mods are required for the Accord kit to fit a CLK 430?

How can you get it for $900, when the Decah kit alone is $1500? What kit will you have?

They claim no cutting, you just bolt it on. I am doing more research on it though, seems to good to be true.

Yeah no cutting on an Accord, but what about a CLK? It's hard to imagine their both exactly the same.

Its up in PA, talked to a guy who had Lambo doors on his PT Cruiser, gave me a business card and said that this guy will get me a good deal. They ususally go for 1700, installed, but he can give it to me 900 for the kit. Ill give him a call on Monday. Has anyone confirmed the Accord kit will work on the CLK?

99' CLK 320 Coupe
*Man this can not be a coincidence*

I was just talking to a friend of mine about this. Here I was about to make the same thread! The info I've seen was being sold on ebay. And I'm getting in contact with somebody that says they can do it for about $1000. Hopefully this will pull through. But I will keep anybody posted if theres any relevant info. (plus I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Peep it, lots of kits for the CLK ( instructions I believe ) but I'm assuming its do-able. I hope to get this done by the end of the month. Post up some prices you recieve for the kit plus installation. So far I found $1,700 in PA. 900 for the kit without the installation. This kit is universal supposidly, this coming from the guy with the Lambo doors on his PT Cruiser at the Metro Import Auto Show today in NJ.

Hey, that guy selling those plans has a CD for just able every vehicle. How much you want to bet all the info is exactly the same?

Viktorious: The kit your talking about, is there a specific brand for it? How would someone across the states get a hold of one? Is it as good as the Decah?

Also, I am wondering if the kit only allows the doors to go up as far as shown in the Decah pics (45 degrees) or if it can go the full 90 degress. And does anyone know how tall the highest point of the door is when up?

No kit offers a door that opens 90 degrees, you'd have to get some serious custom work done to make that happen. Some guy with a Saleen mustang had it done, but I forgot the website.

I don't think lambo doors will look right on CLKs, unless you go out and mod it out to look like an GTR, then lambo doors will definately look nice.

nah, it'll look good. Look at that bimmer, that's hot. Plus it's something that'll set you apart from the next guy, which is always good.

That's the most important thing...make sure your car is nothing like the next guy. In fact if you can make the car look a lot less like the CLK and more like a giant vacuum cleaner while destroying the structural integrity and voiding the warranty in the process, all the better.

Just as long as it's unique.

Go for it.

I believe that is a Decuh kit as well, I still have to check. I think it would look super hot on a CLK. I saw the same type on an SL from Kleemann and it looked VERY good. Ill keep you all posted.

Very interesting, would you be able to return it to stock when you want to sell? Also is you car still under warranty? I can just imagine the look on the service managers face when you pull up and you doors go UP when you get out!!

Wow, easily upset I see.

Anyway, as far as I know, the decah kit can be removed and replaced by the stock hinge assembly whenever you want. Because the CLK would be a custom job, I do not know if it would be as simple to remove as the other kits. I doubt it voids the warranty, because your dealership would never know it was installed.....the doors open outwards like normal, just not as far. You can enter/exit just like stock, or you can swing them upwards.

So, does the Accord kit work on the CLK?
