Along either side of the sunroof of a '99 CLK320 are some really cheap parts that apparently have rusted away. Will attach a few pics. Has anyone dealt with this problem before? Can't see the part using EPC software...

lolks like an aftermarket part, mercedes isnt known for rust like that, unless we are talking rear quarters. That looks like honda's work!
