Just put winter boots on car, are they too good?

~Hi guys

Just got new winter tyres on my 17" old alloys from my previous E Class and DAMN how good do they look. ? I didnt think they would look so good,! so pleased that I can roll in winter with some style instead of normal lame winter wheels !
PS the winter tyres are so good, so much more grip then normal tyres !, Summer shoes are resting warm in the garage ready for the summer weather !

I took my CLK to the snow once, with my stock all season tires on the stock 16s. (Which are hideous) and the car handled like ****. I was sliding around everywhere with how little weight this car has in the rear. It was a nightmare. I want an AWD 208, that would be ridiculously cool. Especially for someone like you that needs it in the winter! Just take the 4matic front end of an E class 210 and somehow integrate into our 208 front end!? I am sure someone could make it work! The ultimate 208!!

OGCLK320:

Too trure about slipping around! at the garagew whilst getting my tires there was a guy waiting with an SL, I asked him how she handled and he said suprisingly and must be todo with the wieght balance at the rear?
PS I've always loved the monoblocks! you car looks really good !

CurYousGee:
Your lucky you dont have snow ! gealous...

A GOOD TIP I learnt for snow drivers with automatics and rear wheel drive is partialy push the foot brake to stop the rear wheels spinning so fast when your trying to get moving from standstill if your stuck on ice or snow and just let the car move on its own drive without gas !

Yeah no worries here in LA, was debating on whether i should sell them or not bc its just sitting there and they look so good to just be stored. They look good on both the E and CLK.

I have the 18 inch staggard version =)

Looks very nice. I just got my clk a month ago as a winter car to give to my daughter when she turns 16. This forum has saved me a tonne of cash getting the car sorted out. Thanks! With winter tires I can not believe how good this car is in the winter. Turn the traction control off and it is the best winter drift car I have driven. It is way better than my Porsche 944 and not as fast as the audi quattros i have had it is very fun. Does not have the power to compare with my BMW m5 but that thing is a beast And I would never drive it in the snow. Overall super impressed with the merc. Great winter car.
