Front Suspension Rebuild
So the time has come that I have been long awaiting. I am going to rebuild the entire front suspension and steering and some other maintenance parts. Here is my list so far. Please chime in if you can add to the list or recommend other things to do.
Drag link (Uro Parts)
Valve cover gaskets
Motor Mounts (Lemfoerder)
Wheel Bearing Kit (Uro Parts)
Sway Bar bushings
Steering Gear Box. (Going to try adjustment first)
Steering Dampner
Idler Arm bushing (Meyle)
Lower Control Arm bushings (Have not decided on which ones yet Poly or OEM)
If anyone has any other recommendations please chime in and let me know!
Also does anyone have any experience with URO Parts? They are all that AutohausAZ carries for a few parts for our car and I am curious if anyone has had any problems with them or knows much about them..??
All help is appreciated.

Get the poly bushings -- and don't get anything else other than OEM Lemforder for everything else.
Too many stories of aftermarket parts falling apart soon after installation.

I went with Rein motor mounts and the conteco trans mount from babyboi's recommendation. The reviews seem legit. I will stay away from URO parts than. There has to be a reason they are so much cheaper. I will have to find a good price on an OEM Lemfoerder drag link. Anyone have any suggestions? The motor mounts and trans mount as well as the poly bushing from FCP and new sway bar bushings have been ordered. Will wait to find the best deal for Lemfoerder drag link. I will be ordering upper control arms (lemfoerder) As well as the idler arm bushing. AutohausAZ only has Meyle for this part. But I have not heard bad things about Meyle. I will keep looking around and keep you guys posted. I will also be adjusting my steering gear box trying to get rid of the play before I buy a completely rebuilt steering box. Let me know if anyone has any other info on URO or Meyle!

How do you plan on adjusting the steering gear box? You are not talking about the 2 side bolts that you access from the tire well right? I didnt even know adjusting it was possible. Is there a DIY or HOW TO posted somewhere?

All you have to do is torque the 3 bolts down to 51ft lbs of torque and your done.

No that is not how you adjust it. There is an actual bolt on the top of the box you loosen and then an allen head that can be turned a 1/4 turn at a time to tighten or loosen the steering. After years and years and miles miles it eventually loosens up. You can make minor adjustments with the bolt on top and turning the bolt a 1/4 turn at a time. Will keep you guys posted on how it goes in the next couple weeks.

Its a simple torquing of the bolts.

No I am not referring to torquing the 3 steering box bolts. Everyone knows about the 3 bolts in the fender well. I am talking about a bolt on top of the box, not very easily accessible unless car is on jack stands and the tie rod ends need to be removed. There is a bolt on top that can be adjusted like I said in my post above. 1/4 turn at a time. I will keep you guys posted on how it goes. My MB tech said he has not had to adjust many on the 208s. but the 210s and 202s he has adjusted a lot more often. I will be doing this in the next couple weeks when I have all my parts listed above and I am ready for the front end rebuild.
