Blacked Out Grill

Well after seeing some pics of blacked out grills I decided that I might want to try it out on my car. I was a little nervous because my feelings for it are usually a little mixed. So I bought another grill and decided to try it on that one, just in case I didn't like it I always had the original grill to go back to. Here are some pics. I actually like it.

Now I need my rims.....

Please keep in mind that the car is dirty due to constant rain and the lighting may not be that good.

Nice. Did you do it yourself?

It seems a little dull compared to the entire car.

Here are a couple pics of my blacked out grill, done by a bodyshop. It was colormatched to factory paint and has a clear-coat layer to match the dimension of the factory paint.

Yeah did it myself. I used a high gloss paint but I guess it's not very visible in the pics. Yours looks great.

I like it! Now, to finish the look, buy a flat hoodstar or a black brabus hood emblem.

Right now, Eleni doesn't have any Brabus mods on her car, sp I'd say to get a flat one unless she's planning on going for the whole Brabus look. :0) I got Carlsson ones to keep a consistent tuner feel.

Eleni, it looks good, and props for DIY! ;0)

Looks great, love the black grill on a black car.
Someone mentioned putting a flat badge in place of the star, which looks nice, but I still really like the stock one. So many people have the flat badge now, and all the new MB's have them, it's almost more unique to keep the stock one.

Yeah I definitely plan on getting the flat hoodstar. I'll probably get to the dealership on Friday and pick it up. I think it will look better with the flat hoodstar, but I will miss my original star.

Thanks. Yeah even though I would love to have a black flat hood emblem to keep the black theme going, I agree that I don't deserve that badging since I don't have anything Brabus on my car. I'm trying to keep everything AMG since I want the Monoblocks.

Thanks. I'm trying to save money here and there, I still have alot of mods I'd like to do. So wherever I can save some cash and I can do it myself, I give it a shot.

If you want to keep an AMG look and you plan on doing more AMG mods to the car, I've seen AMG logo's for the hood on ebay that are similar to the brabus and carlsson ones.

You can see them here

Thanks. I think I'm gonna get that one. It's probably the closest to black I'll get with an AMG theme.
